Give It Your All Or Don’t Do It At All

Giving it your all textWould You Like to Discover Why a Poor Black Youth Became a Billionaire?

More progress and opportunities in life are forfeited by half hearted efforts than one can ever imagine. Something is deficient in a person’s character when they relapse into obscurity when what they are pursuing doesn’t happen fast enough. This can easily cause the average person to become cynical and skeptical of opportunities. In fact, their cynicism reveals itself in their behavior and lack of drive. They become nonchalant or casual in their efforts because they’ve lost hope of anything ever happening favorable for them.

Sustained success will never come to those who are casual in their endeavors. And, if you are in a hurry to be successful, you will inevitably end up making one blunder after another. Whatever you do, it has to be intentional and purposeful. Choose the battles worth fighting and only fight if there is benefit involved. Learn to take your time. Success is always in walking distance. You either have to give it your all, or don’t give it at all.

If you do something half-heartedly, you have more of a chance of losing both whatever you want, and the possibly yourself in the process. You can’t allow fear or apathy to dictate to you because they can cause you to miss out on living your best life. If you’re going to have a chance at succeeding, you have to give it your all, despite the challenges. Oftentimes, failures are experienced by people who give up before realizing how close they are to success.

I’ve discovered that just knowing something isn’t enough; you have to apply the knowledge. To be willing may sound admirable, but this is not enough; you have to employ action to make things work. You must become the change you want to see. Unless you change, nothing will change around you.

One of the greatest weaknesses in life is giving up. The most certain way to succeed in life is always to do it just one more time when something doesn’t work. Do not fear mistakes because God specializes in turning mistakes into miracles. The only way failure can actually exist is if a person is no longer willing to get up. People with options are usually those who anticipate failure in what they are doing, so they run to the next endeavor before they fulfill the expectation of the first.

How do you kill a man with a dream—give him another one. It is easy to give into distractions when your dream doesn’t seem to be working out. Most people struggle with perseverance and would rather capitulate to the circumstances than fight for their dream. It was George Burns who said, “I honestly think it is better to be a failure at something you love, than to be a success at something you hate.”

What you want to do, and what you can do, is limited only by what you believe you can do. Your dream, your business, your family, and your life must be valued enough to lose the fear of opposition; you must work hard and do whatever it takes to achieve success in these areas. This is how you will grow.

There are only two categories of people—the ones who will give their all and the ones who admire the ones who will give their all. Those who give 50%, also give 50 excuses why something can’t be done … Those who give 100%, just do it.

When challenges create a need for me to step out of my comfort zone and exert more energy than I might be willing to give, I consider how preserving beyond them will benefit me more than the discomfort. I could easily come up with 50 reasons why something can’t be done, but how is that productive? It’s always better for me to just do it!

Michael Jordan was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He did not have extra gold dust sprinkled on him at birth. He had the same possibilities as anyone else—he just had a greater desire to succeed than most. After being cut from his high school basketball team, he learned a valuable lesson. If you are going to succeed in living your dream, it’s going to take more than talent…it’s going to take you giving your all.

It’s not as important to know how he became a billionaire, as it is important to know why he became one. The why always exceeds the how! Therefore, whatever you do in life; whether it’s playing sports, being a student, a janitor, or working as the manager of an assembly line, if you can discover the why you want something bad enough, the how will manifest with ease.

Whatever you do in life, give it your all or don’t do it at all. It’s not worth doing, if your heart is not in what you’re doing. If You Want More Out Of Your Life? Give It Your All, Give It Your All, Give It Your All!

Avoiding Contradictions

contridictionsPeople who recognize me when I’m out and about usually like to stop me to ask a question or two about a concern of theirs. Typically the first thing to come out of their mouths is a brief resume on who they are and what they’ve done. Well, one young man was telling me about how he is going to start eating right and taking care of his body. He spoke about what another person told him about vegetables and the benefits of eating them on a daily basis. So, he said, “I’m killing myself with my bad eating habits.” Then he said, “I have to go outside and have a cigarette.”

Trying is Unacceptable

unacceptable200I have spent the better part of my life working to better the lives of people, reaching the up and out to the down and out, helping rocky marriages and helping to launch rocketing careers. I have seen my share of both challenges and treaties, defeats and triumphs. Throughout them all, nothing can replace the accelerating feeling of being a part of helping someone finally reach the apex of their abilities.

The Power of Reach

reaching-200Where would you like to go? …Seriously!

What would you like to do? …No, really!

How much money would you like to make? …No kidding!

There is an element of your human physiology that is hidden deep within the crevasses of your capacity to think; to intellectually reason, to envision, and dream that cannot be touched with hands. And yet, it has the ability to reach far beyond all of your physical capabilities. It is the part of our limited human make-up, which only seems to hide our spiritual essence and creativeness. In fact, it is more real than the tangible or visible. It’s your imagination.

Your imagination is just as much a part of your thought process as the brain in your skull. It is a major key to success. It is the treasure of your psyche and consciousness that can shift you from mental slavery to unlimited mental freedom. Somewhere along the route of growing up, many of us were influenced to turn our thoughts to academics — squelching imagination to follow a more linear route to achievement. Imagination isn’t limited to inventors, artists or performing artists. All of us have this powerful creative ability stored in the fibers of our imaginations. Your imagination is the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images, or concepts of external objects not present to the senses. It is unequivocally the ability of the mind to be creative or resourceful.

Connecting imagination and creativity causes innovation to produce a unique twist to things already manufactured, to expand its potential, and also to cleverly come up with original ideas that have not been thought of. There are many things yet undiscovered only because imagination has not been unleashed to its full possibilities. Learn to listen not just with your ears, but with your entire being. People rarely ever go where they have not already been in their mind. The power of the imagination to reach further than you can go and do greater things you are capable of, will only happen as you feed your mind with positive capabilities.

There are so many factors that are used by individuals to be excuses for why they can’t dream, invent, or recreate. Fear, discouragement, negative talk, limited thinking, unbelief, and self-pity are all weapons that people turn on themselves to impede their own ability to appropriately use their imaginations. Our imagination enables us to break free from the slavery of limits and from the necessity to conform to natural forces.

Although the imagination has some limitations because it cannot control people and/or all circumstances, it is still quite powerful. The human race, absent of the imagination would not have been able to make the great leaps that it has over the last one hundred years; from sending a probe to Mars and landing it, to inventing 3D Copy Machines, open heart surgery…and so much more.. This realization further reinforces the belief that humans are the only species with enhanced imagination, as no other species has had similar advances.

The power of the imagination is one of the components given to humanity to mentally create what one might desire, so they can reach and stretch out there, into the void of space…by faith, to pull that created image into reality. The power of imagination impacts our lives in a multiplicity of ways. Imagination is specifically a human gift. To imagine is to simply have images in your head progressing in a sequence that is perhaps from memory or an unknown future. It can be us merely making out what we want to happen in our own future.

Release your imagination. Create your future world. You have the resource to do it, so why not go for it. Reach! Stretch! Make contact with what’s out there in your created world. Don’t be concerned about the “how,” and don’t make excuses for the lack of understanding about the why, because you do indeed possess imagination. Imagination doesn’t have to be understood, just believed. If you are not having the kind of success you want in your life, your imagination is in all probability at work with fear, doubt, anxiety and limited beliefs.

Through your imagination you learn to manage your environment. Your life is adorned with the thoughts in your head. Imagine dressing in your ideal way and watch how you will subconsciously gain a strength and tenacity to lose weight so you will look the way you imagine yourself to be. Remember, a star is born when a person realizes their interior strength, talent, and ability and uses them to benefit humanity.

Living Beyond Mere Existence

Living Beyond Mere Existence
Live an Exciting Life!
The only thing that stands between a person and what he wants from life is often merely the will to do it and the faith to believe that it is possible. A living faith cannot be manufactured by the rule of majority.

Faith walkers will never blend in with those who govern their life by logic. Reason is good when the situation is humanly possible; faith is called for when it’s not. A faith that hasn’t been tested can’t be trusted. Faith is a passionate intuition and he who has faith has an inward reservoir of courage, hope, confidence, and calmness. Prayer may be the way to reach heaven, but faith is the key to unlock its door.

What Is Your Inspiration?

Shattering The Mold of Mediocrity
Inspiration can come from so many different sources, but can you muster the kind of inspiration from within to propel you towards achieving your goals while facing discouragement? Can a person inspire him or herself?

Self motivation is something that originates from within and helps you to overcome barriers while you pursue your goals and aspirations. The quickest killer of pursuit is discouragement and the quickest killer of discouragement is pursuit. In other words, the end result will be either pursuit or discouragement; depending on which one a person will capitulate to. To be inspired from within increases your greatest potential to succeed.

Determination to endure to the end after facing horrific and discouraging situations, demonstrates perseverance.

The Number One Excuse is….

What do you suppose is the number one excuse used by people who do not live out their dreams? Do you think that the answer is procrastination, lack of resources, a lack of knowledge or fear? Certainly, without a doubt these excuses will definitely compete for the top spot, but only one excuse can gain the number one top excuse of all times. If fear was your selection to earn the top spot for excuses used, you are correct. Although fear is the top excuse used for many avoided and failed attempts at accomplishments, it can never be viewed as a legitimate reason. Fear is a horrible monster that seeks to drain an individual of self-confidence and poise. It takes a systemic process to breakdown the psyche of a person leaving them helpless and victimized. Therefore, fear becomes an acceptable and justifiable cause for not moving forward. Stephen Graham said,

Excuses are tools of incompetents that build monuments to nothing and those that specialize in them are seldom good at anything else.

As a young kid, I use to climb trees and bridges and jump down without any fear of the height. As I grew older, I found myself playing more sports rather than jumping off things, which of course left me with only the memories of what was. At about the age of twenty I was helping a couple with some work on their roof, only to realize that I had developed a fear of heights. How could this have happen. I literally became fearful of coming down from the roof of the house. They continued to reassure me that I was only a few feet from the ground, but all I could think of was the view I had while standing on the roof. You see, I am six feet tall; okay 5’11” ¾ tall. Nonetheless, standing on top of something gave me the optical illusion that I was as least my height from the ground including the ten feet representing the height of the house. In actuality, my feet were about six feet closer to the ground. Unfortunately, fear had paralyzed me to the point that it took my friends about twenty minutes to talk me down coupled with them holding my legs for support. From that point on, I realized that I had to regain my since of composure and confidence in order to literally dismiss the fear that once gripped my heart and mind.

Once fear has been realized, it must be deliberately tackled like a brute linebacker going after the quarterback. Nothing should be left to chance or time once fear has been detected. You may not like what you have to do to overcome fear’s devastating hold, however, once you are free from it, you will be glad you regained your self-reliance and freedom so that you can with confidence pursue your dream.
