If Others Can Succeed, You Can Do It Too!

MB Text 3-29-2015There are certain myths and beliefs about why some people seem to overcome life’s struggles, and somewhat thrive through the ranks with such ease. I’m not talking about those who inherited money from their great or great, great grandparents, but rather the people who had humble beginnings and tragic upbringings, yet whose gifts or talents opened many doors for. In comparison, there are millions of people with great abilities who are smart and intelligent, yet it seems as if life is passing them by.

When you hear and read the stories of people who have risen out of humble or poor conditions such as Michael Jordan, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Howard Schultz, Russell Simmons, Earvin (Magic) Johnson, John Paul DeJoria, and others who have come from low income lifestyles only to rise to the lifestyles of the rich and famous; You can almost believe to a large degree that maybe there are people who had a little extra gold dust sprinkled on them at birth.

These are some of the people of which 90% of us look at as being super- human, or as having some special gift that most people in this world just don’t have. Perhaps, they sold their soul to the devil in exchange for wealth and success. Now, as outlandish as this may sound, some people will accept this as a reality to justify why they just can’t seem to get over the hump.

Well, let me tell you the truth. Not one single person has any more ability to succeed in life or business than you. Life doesn’t have to be hard; it has to be functional and purposeful. You have to add meaning to your life; and goals, dreams, and vision are one way to add significance. Some people excel at life and business and some don’t – which one are you?

Contrary to popular belief, there are no codes to crack, safes to pick, or mysteries to solve. All that is required is to understand that the so-called-secret hidden behind a successful life, is diligence. You have to know what you want, and you have to want it bad enough to go for it regardless of the sacrifices it demands. Sometimes, the only thing blocking you from reaching your goal is the one thing you have a difficult time letting go. So, what’s blocking you?

“Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.”
~Napoleon Hill

When people come to me about what they would like to do with their lives, I usually try to get them to make the decision to start the journey of reaching their goals before they find an excuse they can believe. If you give them a ‘What if it doesn’t happen’ scenario, you will have just reduced their dream or goals to an excuse. The excuse would prove to be just what they were looking for, because the demands may be greater than their desire. There is no room in my life for excuses—every space is occupied.

If you want to be a winner, change your philosophy about what it requires now! If you think you are totally incapable of owning and running your own business, then make that your goal. Why? It’s hard to keep score without a goal. Life needs adventure, excitement, and challenge; without these you’re just waiting for the grave.

Did you know that you only have today to get tomorrow right; but you cannot use today to correct the wrongs from yesterday? Belief in yourself and in your God-given abilities is a premium. Real confidence and empowerment is not determined by knowledge. Knowledge is from the past, which means it is safe but outdated. Why? Because what got you here, won’t get you there!

Some knowledge conflicts with originality and innovation. Knowledge is experience, and most people wish they had avoided most of the experiences they’ve encountered during their lifetimes. Experience can be an inhibitor to your success because it is built on solutions to old problems and situations. If you have the knowledge you most likely will use it again. Experience is the opposite of being imaginative and resourceful.

Find your true authentic self, and you will discover your hidden treasure. However, if you continue to search outside of yourself, you will only seek to be a cheap carbon copy of a great original.

Put Your Mind On Your Money

MB blog_textSome people excel with money and some don’t – Which One Are You? Are you embarrassed by your money skills? If you are sick and tired of doing money the old way—read this! If you need to increase your income, let’s start by discovering how much money you already have with your present income by discovering how not to make your debtors richer.

“I believe that the power to make money is a gift from God.”
~John D. Rockerfeller

Most people have it all wrong about money in America. Money is the one common thread that ties all the nations of the world together. Poverty is the perversion of prosperity, and the parody of financial freedom is debt. A dollar saved is a value, a dollar invested produces increase. What money comes in today will always reflect what went out yesterday.

The art of creating wealth works in the reverse of how one creates debt. The improper use of money creates debt. Debt is the result of what you cannot afford. Wealth is the result of the appropriate management of money. People have it all wrong, a person doesn’t have to possess a lot of money to create wealth—it is having the knowledge and using it, which causes your money to work to produce wealth for you.

Can You Handle the Truth? Most people aren’t enthusiastic about hearing the truth, especially when it challenges their self-imposed inadequacies. These people concoct fantasies in their mind to substantiate their defects. Now of course, the stories are not true, but they are stories they can believe, which shift the blame of underperforming from themselves to some other person or condition.

Henry Ford once said, “The man that believes he can and the man who believes he can’t are both right.” Most people have had money problems and most people do not give up on life, they continue to march on until they can either find a solution or make up another story. These concocted stories become the reasons or excuses for the lack of passion, which is in my opinion, sheer fear. There is no easier lie to believe than the one that places the blame on God.

You must initially see that debt and financial struggles (poverty) go hand in hand. Please understand that my aim is not to humiliate or beat you down if you find yourself in this predicament, I simply want to give to you a simple plan to better equip yourself and your family to be financially secure. This doesn’t mean you’re going to become a millionaire over night, but you can be en route to fulfilling your dreams and having more money, even if it is not a million dollars in your bank account.

They say that money isn’t everything, and that’s true—but look at how many things it is. In our society, money is everything. For Americans, it is how we keep score. A man’s treatment of money is the most decisive test of his character—how he makes it and how he spends it. Money doesn’t change a person; it simply exposes him or her for who they already are. If money makes you feel better about yourself, then you neither understand yourself nor the reason for creating wealth.

The Bible says, “…For the love of money is the root of all evil.” This verse is often misquoted—it doesn’t say that money is evil. The personal secular methods that help a man acquire a fortune are the very ones that can keep him from enjoying it. Money itself is not evil, nor is it good. Both good and evil can be done with money. The old maxim is, “Money may not bring happiness…”, but I say, “Neither will poverty.”

When a man respects the potential of money and learns to control its influence, he becomes a wise man. Are you a good money manager? Yes you are! All most people need is a little motivation and a little help, and they are on their way to being a blessing to family, church, and to others.

In just three to six months, you can free up some of your cash which can go towards other bills if, you can believe it. The basic requirement needed for debt reduction is for you to “Start.” Learn and apply the spiritual principle of giving. I have heard people say, “But I don’t know where to begin.” My answer is simple. How did you start getting into debt? You started collecting credit cards and systematically using them. Reverse the process. Start with plastic surgery by cutting up your credit cards, then collect and arrange your bills and pay them systematically.

Do not be afraid to examine how you got into your financial mess. Retrace your steps and you will end up where you started—debt free.

How To Rocket Your Life And Income

2-22-15-insideHow Fast Are You Willing to Recover from a Setback or Do You Just Sit Back? Resiliency is the ability to recover quickly from setbacks. In other words, in life you have to be like elasticity, which is the knack of matter to spring back quickly into shape after being bent, stretched, or deformed.

What do you do when your business is struggling, or your career appears to be on the verge of being railroaded by a young witty super salesperson, or when your life seems to be inundated with the yo-yo syndrome? How do you get your marriage off the rocks or make your marriage solid as rock when things are rocky?

When a situation occurs that can negatively affect your life or possibly cause it to turn out for the worse, there are three possible choices you can make in reaction to it. You can decide to panic, do nothing and adapt, or become innovative.

Considering the economic conditions we are facing in this country with unemployment in the double digits, increasing home foreclosure rates, diminishing property values, and skyrocketing healthcare prices, people are wondering how it is possible to save even a dollar; especially, with taxes increasing every time a politician sneezes. With the constant negative fluctuation of U.S. currency, upheaval amongst our political officials, the threat of nuclear warfare, and white-collar crime increasing, whom do we trust with our future earnings—whom do we trust with our lives?

Our military men and women are committing suicide at an alarming rate. Three quarters into the year 2010, the military experienced twice the number of suicides as the previous year. Americans are angry and fed up with our government sending government civilian personnel and troops over to defend and help build the economies of other nations, as they perform such a task under volatile conditions, while the U.S home front is collapsing under the weight of social programs, wasteful spending, excessive taxes, and a bureaucracy that apparently does not care about its own citizens.

Already, some people are surmising that the American ship is going down and have decided to check out of this life by committing suicide. Panic appears to be the choice of some people. However, when a person panics, all self-control is lost, and the ability to think clearly is cluttered with ‘what ifs’ that have nothing to do with what is. Let me suggest to you that this is not a time for panic, but sober contemplation. We cannot assume the phrase, “We will not go down without a fight.” We must only consider the phrase, “We will not go down!” With this attitude, fortitude is established and focused intensity is applied. Therefore, when politicians fail, pandemonium is served, and conditions are other than favorable, who do you trust?…Trust God!

There are people who do nothing in this country but complain and adapt to environments without any attempt to create change. “What can one man do” they exclaim, while conditions worsen around them. They are welded into the declining conditions as a permanent fixture, never to rise above it. There is still another choice that should be considered, and yes, it is the best choice of all.

It was Plato who said that necessity is the mother of invention, and believe me, innovation is the prevailing thought. There are a people who have displayed resilience under severe and sometimes unbearable circumstances, who have come out even more determined to live on. Jewish people, whom I have had the wonderful privilege of engaging and hearing their stories, have encouraged me in more ways than one could possibly imagine.

If Jewish people were forbidden in one direction, they would excel in another. When Jews were prohibited to deal in new clothes, they sold old clothes—that was the beginning of organized traffic in secondhand clothing. When they were not allowed to deal in merchandise, they dealt in waste—the Jewish people are the originators of the waste product business of the world. They were the originators of the salvage system and found wealth in the rubbish of civilization. America and the world have the history of the commercial descendants of those earlier Jews who turned adversity into success…not by becoming bitter, but better.

Beloved, despite the economic woes of this nation, if we the people can believe, decide not to panic, and begin to eradicate our personal debt by taking a strategic approach to doing so, we will succeed. Despite what the nation is experiencing…do not panic or adapt to the conditions of your surroundings. Become resilient and learn to work within the system until the system works for you.

Always Forward

Always ForwardHave you ever been at a point in life when you wanted to give up, throw in the towel, and quit for the rest of your life? Remember as children, when we played baseball and we failed to catch the ball or, being embarrassed at school for liking someone who didn’t like you? How about when you felt you were the most qualified for a position on your job but you were passed over? All of these, and more real-life scenarios, have been used as the culprit for quitting, or becoming stagnated, where you no longer gave a hundred percent effort.

Life is about moving forward always, no matter what—and not becoming stagnated by some emotional letdown when something doesn’t work in your favor. Finding excuses for quitting at life gives a person immediate access to depression and anxiety, which oftentimes, leads to self-destruction. Disappointments, frustrations, and failures, are all a part of life. Unfortunately, we cannot always escape these life factors, because while we are learning how to live, we are also learning how not to fail. These life lessons inevitably lead to mistakes. How you deal with your errors will either demonstrate your mental stability and your inner strength, or the lack thereof.

How can people have an incredible childhood, come from an affluent family, attend the best schools and universities in the country, lack for nothing in their lives, and only to come to the conclusion they are unhappy? While another person, who lived the opposite lifestyle, experiencing bumps and bruises while growing up, coming from a lower to middle income family, who perhaps attended a local city college, and who struggles at times to make ends meet, discovers they are happy with their life. What’s the difference? How can two people who have lived a similar lifestyle of drugs and failure, turn out with one experiencing a mental breakdown, while the other experiences a breakthrough?

The answer may surprise you, because of how simple it is. Humans have a propensity to make simple processes extremely difficult. I have also been guilty of this in times past. I have racked my brain trying to understand some things that have challenged me, or to understand why I was not as progressive in life when I believed I was capable of being so; to understand those times when I should have been strengthening my decision making skills, to be more resolute, than indecisive.

I believe there are four major buttons in life, and not one of them, is a reset button. To reset means to return to a default setting. It may sound like a great cliché, but why anyone would want to return to the default setting which causes their mistakes initially, is beyond me.

These four major buttons are on every audio and video device, most computer keyboards, every remote control for these devices and every other electronic component requiring a play button: They are Stop, Rewind, Play, and Forward. In addition, eject is the added bonus. What do these buttons mean to the average person, who seems to oftentimes get the short end of the stick? Every person was born with a play, pause, and stop button. The reverse button, is only in a person’s head, because we cannot actually reverse except in our minds.

For life to work in its most simplistic form, a person must understand that it takes wisdom to fast forward, intelligence to pause, integrity of strength to play, but foolishness to go backwards. If you can wrap your head around these for components, which can help in some way to make sense out of life, then you just might discover that the purpose of life really does make a lot of sense.

No one comes into this world and begins life counting backwards in years, months, weeks, and days. All of humanity is designed for forward mobility, and we start, not at one, but at start. A person cannot set goals for the days they’ve already lived; they can only set goals for days that have not been lived. This suggest there is a Mastermind and Designer who created us to live forward, not to die in backward mode.

Don’t spend your days judging your future by the failures and disappointments of your past. And for heaven’s sake, do not spend your time trying to come up with an excuse to stop moving forward. Benjamin Franklin said, “He who makes excuses is seldom good for making anything else.”

Live life on purpose. Time is always moving forward. Stop spending your time living in rewind, because you are wasting it. Spend your time by paying attention to living your future today, and every new day, will expose you to new treasures.

Are You Holding Your Money Hostage?

money-hostage-email200Riches may not bring happiness, but neither will poverty. When it comes to making money, you must use money itself. To bet on a horse is gambling; to bet you can come up with three spades is entertainment, to bet on cotton going up three points is business. You see the difference?

Most people have it all wrong about wealth in America. Wealth is not the same as income. Wealth is what you accumulate, not what you spend. The Good Book teaches us not to trust in money, but it does teach us to place it in trust. Money that is not moving is not money at all. Money is a seed to use in order to accumulate, but it cannot increase without movement. Nothing good can come from you holding your money hostage.

There is a lesson in the seed of a man. When a man emits semen into a woman, millions of sperms are discharged, but only one has the assignment of the production of life. You may still have that one thing you won’t release and it may be the very seed to increase your capacity.

People who are looking for the next financial miracle are those who have not planned or made provisions for their future. These people are literally playing Russian roulette with their lives. Are you?

The point I’m making, is finances and creating finances, is not a game. Through nutritional research, we’ve learned the body reflects the diet fed to the body. Physical stamina, resistance to disease, body size, even how long we live, is all closely related to what we eat. The body is what the body is fed. By the same token, the mind is what the mind is fed. Mind food is the countless things which influence our conscious and subconscious thoughts. The mental foods we consume determine our habits, attitudes, and personality. The mind reflects what its environment feeds it, just as surely as the body reflects the food you feed it. So, your belief about money may be the reason you don’t have enough of it.

Have you ever thought what kind of person you would be had you been reared in some foreign country instead of the United States?, What foods would you prefer?, Would your preference for clothing be the same?, What would be your religion?, What sort of entertainment would you like the most?

Environment shapes us and causes us think the way we do. Try to name just one habit or one mannerism you have, which you did not pick up from other people. The way we walk, cough, hold a cup; our preferences for music, literature, entertainment, and clothing—all stem in very large part from environment.

More importantly, what you believe about money, the size of your thinking, your goals, your attitude, and your very personality, is formed by your environment. If most of the people you spend your time with are financially broke, and they have no ambition to change their financial status, the likelihood of you living with that same mindset is at least ninety percent. If you hang around three broke people, you are sure to be the fourth.

There once lived a very wealthy man who was famed for his great wealth and his liberality. There were certain friends of his younger days who came to him and said: “You are more fortunate than we. You have become very rich while we struggle for existence.

You can wear the finest garments and you can enjoy the rarest foods, while we must be content if we can clothe our families in raiment that is presentable and feed them as best we can.

Yet, once we were equal. We studied under the same master. We played in the same games. And in neither the studies nor the games did you outshine us.

And in the years since, you have been no more an honorable citizen than we have. Nor have you worked harder or more faithfully, insofar as we can judge. Why, then, should a fickle fate, single you out to enjoy all the good things of life and ignore us who are equally deserving?”

The wealthy man said to them, “If you have not acquired more than a bare existence in the years since we were youths, it is because you either have failed to learn the laws that govern the building of wealth, or you do not observe them.”

There are no excuses for staying in the same predicament. Start your process of change by changing your attitude about money. Just like you learned about everything else you presently know, if you will just make a choice about money and how it grows; your financial situation can change in an instant.

Remember, all you may know is not all there is to learn. Learn to respect money and you will attract it.

Train tracks are designed to take a train to a particular designation. The train is designed to travel only on railroad tracks. The train cannot take short cuts, it cannot cut through fields, and the train cannot change its course without the conductor. Even if the conductor changes the direction of the train, the train maintains its position on the train tracks. Standing Still or Moving On

Standing Still or Moving
Standing Still or Moving On?
In February of nineteen hundred and eighty-four, I made one of the most important decisions of my life. I decided to walk away, and never return, from a people who were generally pessimistic. After careful consideration, I felt I had no choice but to walk away from those who had an unproductive philosophy that kept me struggling and mystified. Only then, was I able to comprehend the length, breadth, and height of my decision. If you have a desire to achieve anything of significance, you have to disallow your life to be circumscribed by people who are stuck in mediocrity and have no desire to move beyond it. They may be good people; they are just not good for you.

Job, Career, or Entrepreneurship

Have you ever said, “I need more money”? Before you spend another dime read what I have to say about creating more money.

Before You Spend A Dime On More Gas to Deliver Pizza for Extra Income, Read what I Have to Say!

“I need more money, and the only way I know how to get it without stealing, is to get an extra job!” said Fred.

Worrying about Money
Money Worries

I know how frustrating it can be when you have more month at the end of your money than money at the end of your month. Oftentimes, people are confused and unbelieving when it comes to creating ways to increase their income without having to get a second job or receiving a hefty pay raise. I am not saying that an extra job is not a viable option; I am simply pointing to the fact that there are other alternatives to increase your income without the added stress load. Besides this, employers are not passing out huge pay raises to people except to their top executives. Let’s face it; working yourself to death is not the answer for increasing your income. And, even if you were successful at increasing your income by working extremely hard and or having two jobs, you probably will not be around long enough to enjoy it. There are two ways to increase your income.
  1. You chase money until you have caught up with it, which makes you work harder.
  2. You learn how to attract money and make it work for you, and work smarter.

You make the choice. Get a job or create one.

There is a powerful scripture in the Bible that can unequivocally be a booster for one’s self-confidence, if they can believe it. This verse has empowered me to create the kind of opportunities to multiply my earnings by producing streams of income. This Bible verse does not pacify the self-helpless person because it places the ball in the individual’s court to produce actionable results to improve one’s income. For me, this is a self-help verse.

Deut. 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth… (NIV)

Hundreds of millions of people have subliminally placed making money as some special gift that only a few exclusive heavenly endowed people have. Therefore, the person who accepts this philosophy as being true has already viewed their nominal salary as the motive to insert them in the average and ungifted category. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Rather people believe in their intrinsic ability to make as much money as they want to or not; based on this Bible verse, every human being has the impregnable gifting and right to create or produce wealth.

Playing dumb is not going to better your situation, nor is sticking your head in the sand to avoid the obvious going to make your financial woes disappear. People who think that they have money problems are sadly mistaken; their actual problem is not money, it is the lack of information and belief in their God-given ability to create wealth. In order to stop this infectious supposition from permeating the next generation, I believe parents have a responsibility to instruct their children and embed the belief in their psyche of their inherent ability to make and manage money, so that when they become young adults they are already ahead of the money making curve.

I both challenge and desire to change the way millions of people around the world think about producing and increasing wealth. There are viewpoints that often contradict conventional wisdom, mine is one of them. The first step to income multiplication is to believe that income multiplication is possible. Go ahead and take the first step. Then the inevitable will come into view.
