Dismantle The Walls To Your Progress

MB Text 4-12-2015 (Dismantel Walls)Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.

-Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is considered America’s first self-help author, who after leaving school at the age of 10 to work in his father’s candle making business, overcame incredible odds to accomplish a great deal in his lifetime. At the age of 12 Benjamin took an interest in the business of printing. It was there where he developed an appetite for reading and writing. Surprisingly enough, Benjamin Franklin became an accomplished inventor, writer, scientist, statesman, philosopher, diplomat and abolitionist. He achieved all of this without graduating from any one of the finest colleges in his day. Imagine what you can do when you understand the power of progress.

If you want to be a winner and you want your life to change for the better, change your philosophy about what is required for progress now! Learn how to make your progress a reality. Progress is not moving away from challenges; it is not shirking from pressure, and it is certainly not backing down from a fight. Progress earns the right to be what it is because it is the potential to push beyond those obstacles.

I so strongly believe there are no constraints on the human mind, no barriers around the human spirit, and no blockades to our progress except those we ourselves construct. Dismantle the walls that impede your progress. Although it may take some time, progress cannot be achieved without consistency.

Positive development, which is usually gradual in nature, works towards achieving a goal or reaching a higher standard. The principle agent for initiating progress is a word most people don’t mind reading about or saying to others. However, they are diametrically opposed to applying it to themselves. That word is CHANGE! If you don’t change what you’re doing, you will never shift your movement from regression to progression. Progress is forward or onward movement. Progress is advancement.

The words progress or progressiveness could be pleasant words to use, however change is the motivator, and change has its enemies. Resistance is an enemy to change; therefore, it is an adversary to progress. If you are resistant to change you are tolerant of excuses. If your ‘should’ does not turn into ‘must’, you will be consistently passive towards change, and progress will never be realized.

Your standards must change. You must place a higher standard on yourself than what others may require of you. If you remain passive toward making the necessary changes in your life, and wait for life to give you the ‘have-to’, something will come along in your life and provide you with the ‘must’ that may not be very pleasant.

It is sad when overweight people are warned by their physicians, that if they don’t change the way they eat they will probably be dead within two years. Only after hearing this kind of threat, do some of them finally get serious about their diets. Sometimes, life’s ‘musts’ comes too late and lives are lost as a result. Or consider relationships which were given little attention because one person thought providing money instead of time, was the only requirement for being a good spouse or parent.

The goal of progress is to reach whatever is placed before it, and the only thing you need to recover from is a fractured sense of self when the journey is laborious. Personal transformation can and does have global effects. As we change, so changes the world around us. The revolution which can save your life and ultimately someone else’s life, is a personal one.

As you learn to master the art of progression, your achievements will eventually give others the right to believe that what you accomplish, they can for themselves, experience similar accomplishments.

Don’t Half Live Your Dream

MB_text_3-13-15I’ve discovered that Success is not a simple matter; it cannot be determined merely by the amount of money and material possessions you have. Things can make you happy temporarily, but they are a poor substitute for inner peace and happiness. To achieve one’s ultimate purpose should be one’s earthly pursuits.

We all want to be happy and successful, especially financially. We work at it. We strive for it. We know it when we have it, and we know when we are not happy. It seems so elusive sometimes. We often seek happiness in all the wrong places. We run to substitutes for happiness that often makes us feel even more unhappy.

A millionaire who is not personally content with his or her life is not truly successful. I do not mean that if you have a billion dollars you cannot be considered a success however, we usually make the mistake of thinking that happiness is related somehow to our financial condition, or we think if our circumstances get better, we will be happy.

Happiness has absolutely nothing to do with circumstances. Two people with identical circumstances can have vastly dissimilar levels of contentment. One is happy and the other is not. You can have a bias for depression or a bias for happiness. When you get up each morning you will make a pre-decision for or against happiness.

Every person who succeeds in life does so by persevering in the face of adversity and by continually applying themselves to their vision. No one comes into this earth with their talents and abilities fully functional, but instead they dedicate years of their lives to developing them. Faith is a necessity for your purpose to come to fruition. Remember, faith doesn’t make things easy, it makes things possible.

When you are fed a steady diet of cynicism and skepticism, it may be hard to speak anything positive. This constant intake of negativity affects your perspective and your communication. The way you see things is what you come to believe about them.

If you are progressive in your thinking, then always enduring and overcoming challenges is the evolution of your unadulterated self. You are more powerful when you know who you are, and you are then more courageous. Once you conquer one mountain, you will know that another one stands in your way. Every time you have a top of the mountain experience, you then find yourself at the bottom of another mountain. Life is full of challenges, and dreams make the journey that much more pleasurable when achieved.

The key to living your dream is meeting limited circumstances with thoughts without limits. It’s not about how little you have; it is about the amazing things you can do with what you do have. Jesus turned 2 fish and five loaves of bread into a full course meal for 5,000 men, and He fed 4,000 with 7 loaves of bread and fish. It’s not about how much you have; it is about God’s ability residing in you to multiply what you have.

Stake claim to your dream and stop haphazardly pursuing something you were created to do. The present moment is the only time there is. No matter what time it is, both the past and future exist when you bring them into your present moment. You can decide to live your life from your past pain or you can live forward. Understand this moment, NOW! Now is the accepted time, not tomorrow. There’s nothing more powerful than a person who knows how to contain and control their personal power and not let it seep out.

Every time the present moment is ignored, there is enormous loss; and every time the present moment is seized there is immense gain. If a person advances with self-confidence in the direction of his or her dreams, and believes they are possible, and endeavors to live the life which he or she has imagined, they will meet with uncommon success at an unforeseen hour.

Resolve Or Dissolve

You either expand or you become expendable. You have to decide to live your passion or else it will be easy to become distracted? Have you committed to developing a winning strategy to cultivate greatness? No person can reach his or her full capacity without being committed to achieving it. Success should not be measured in terms of perfection, which can hardly be sustained, but rather by progress.

When your endeavors fail to attain a status of flawlessness, progress should be the expected outcome. Improvement is insignificant gain when your goals are enormous. Therefore, focus on realistic goals with their foundations settled in your passion, which is fueled by your inspiration. Avoid setting goals which are easily achievable. In fact, you should not set your expectations so far out of reach that you would need wings to get there.

Believable goals are far better than inconceivable ones. The evidence of commitment is what drives the athlete to perform at their personal best when they have to play extra endings of baseball, shoot one more basketball in overtime, or fight one more round when it appears they are losing the fight. You should not be overly concerned with winning by a landslide, just winning. Your aim should be to beat average, not succumb to it.

Being victorious in any area of life, whether by a large spread or an inch, is still winning. Let’s face it; there are no short cuts to success and it never goes on sale. Oftentimes, people want to achieve success at basement bargain prices without investing their time, energy, and resources. My friend, you must discover what is so personally valuable to you that it unleashes the fight in you. It must be that thing which makes you lose yourself in the moment of someone’s audacity to try to take it from you. You growl at the challenges, as a female dog will growl when strangers are trying to take her pups.

Regardless of how you hear others talk about how dreadful the economy is, the rising divorce rate, and the humongous loss of jobs, do not allow these individuals to weaken your defenses. Yes, negative occurrences are all around us, but it doesn’t mean they’re in us. You should not allow yourself to become contaminated with the misdirection of others and lose your dedication. Continue to fight for your dream of a wonderful marriage, a successful business, and a powerful and fulfilling life. If you can discover your passion in life, it will begin to spill over into other areas of your life.

How you view your circumstances and disappointments is important in determining to whether or not you will muster up the strength to go at it again. I cannot overemphasize the value of a failed attempt. That’s right; I said there is value in failure. How else can you learn to persevere if you never experience the kind of challenges which test your resolve and tenacity to fight, until accomplishment has been achieved? Discouragement is not fatal and failure is not final.

The more you fall short of your goals, the more you learn concerning what not to do. The reward of success is capitulated only to those who persevere over failure. Therefore, do not use failure as a reason to quit, but the motivation to go at it harder than before. Your failures can only make you smarter and privy to information you would not otherwise have accumulated.

All the rewards of life are beyond the comfort zone of convenience. Here is a remedy for being cantankerous and just plain irritable about life’s situations. Instead of trying to force yourself to pretend you are cheerful about the circumstances which are seemingly getting the best of you, take a real-life approach to fixing the whole matter. I discovered circumstances do not truly create moods; people do.

Your frame of mind is not preconditioned to circumstances, which cause your emotions to become erratic. People have simply learned over time to associate emotional responses with certain occurrences. Our thinking patterns are involuntarily forced into emotional responses based on the consistent images which suggest behavioral responses. It takes years of seeing these mental images which are conducive to producing reactionary responses without forethought. Therefore, it is not so simple to act as if you are happy about things falling apart in your life, which would normally cause an emotional shift.

Are you ready to hear how you can change your seemingly predisposed behavior? Count your blessings or they do not count! You might respond here with a resounding “What?!” I know you thought the remedy to controlling your emotional mood was a more complicated process. On the contrary, the answers to much of our problematic situations are discovered in simplicity.

Count Your Blessings. If you are only considering how bad your situation is, think of how much worse it could be. There are more things working in your favor than are working against you. When you begin to count your blessings, you will notice how the good far outweighs the bad. Therefore, thank God! Complaining about your circumstances will not fix them; it will only exacerbate them. If however, you count the good things which can come out of a bad situation; your emotional response will be favorable rather than negative. Try it; it works.
