One day I asked my audience the question, “What do you want your life to look like”? In that instance, I saw an exuberant audience turn into a bunch of subdued people who looked as though they were looking into a far distant land. I immediately realized that my question invoked a hypnotic trance that people had to snap out of because their imagination had instantaneously gone into the creative mode.
When I told my friends my dream, they laughed! And, boy did they laugh, until they saw what I achieved.
I discovered that there are more people who will laugh at your dream when you talk about it than there are people who will laugh at your attempt to achieve it; but no one will laugh when you accomplish your dream.
The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. Like most people, it is extremely more comfortable to talk about doing something than it is to actually do it. It costs you more than you ever anticipated spending to live your dreams, than it does for you to get a job. A person who is willing to live on less to achieve their goals understands that they have more to live for.
DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY…AND WATCH YOUR LIFE CHANGE.
Do you feel like you are drowning in a sea of the same routine in life? Have you ever stayed awake at night thinking about how your life seems to be on hold? If you want more out of life, you’re going to have to change what you are doing.
What is the best investment you believe you can make that will immediately reap gigantic benefits both personally and monetarily? If your response is “in yourself”, you are absolutely correct. It’s no secret that YOU are your greatest asset. Let’s face it; you really are all that and a bag of chips.
How do you think you would do in the area of exercising mental toughness?
It is easy to sit back and analyze another person’s performance, and say what you would do if you were in their situation. The truth of the matter is, if you have never been there or been trained for certain situations, you have no clue as to how you would respond under such severe mental pressure. Sometimes we are unable to change our environment to manage stress – this may be the case where we do not have the power to change a situation. Therefore, a person must learn to adapt and improvise in order to overcome the mental challenges and to have the best possible chance of succeeding. This is only accomplished with training.
There is but one major quality that works alongside of one’s faith. I regard this quality as being most greatly associated with success, whatever the field. It is the quality of persistence. Determination to endure to the end after facing horrific and discouraging situations, demonstrates perseverance.

Starting 2012 with unfulfilled 2011 resolutions, flat broke, depressed and worn out is not the ideal way to start a New Year. In fact, even if you are not financially broke, struggling financially can be an indication that your financial status is on track to change from struggling to flat broke. I have never met a person whose endeavor was to be average or standard. Average is not a goal because it takes no extraordinary ability to achieve it.
I have never met a person whose endeavor was to be average. Average is not a goal because it takes no extraordinary ability to achieve it.
Standard or minimum requirement is the new ‘average’ which is the usual, the ordinary kind, or the least acceptable quality. It is the ‘typical’ accepted by the general public. It’s like the old maxim, “It can’t be wrong if everybody is doing it.” Why accept what everyone else does? Is it because it is safe? Do you feel that if you are like everyone else, you can then avoid being negatively discussed by others? Continue reading “Beyond Standard”
Whether you are an inveterate procrastinator, a junk food junkie, or a perennial job hopper, I believe the first step to breaking any bad habit is to clean up your clutter. If your closet is messy and unorganized, your thoughts probably are too—so start small and work your way up to the big stuff. If you are interested in being successful or starting a business and you do not have enough time to read twenty books, first sit down and determine in your mind and heart what you really want to do. Once you have made your determination about your future, you are then in the captain’s seat.
There is no elevator designed to take you to the success floor; you have to take the stairs. One-step at a time towards the goal line of accomplishment is the difference between dreaming about success and living it. Usually, people are looking to increase their bottom line when they have not yet figured out why the line is at the bottom. Being organized is the initial way to ensure success, but having no plan is unquestionably a way to kill your dream. When you organize your thoughts, it is an indication that your life is organized as well.
Let me give three important principles to help you succeed in business, increase your job performance and even make your life better. These three principles can easily become actionable and will produce immediate results, if they are used appropriately.
- Discover if the sky is the limit for your dream business or if it’s the top of your closet.
Most people end up putting their dreams on the shelf because they were unwilling to exit their comfort zone.
- Develop the skills to become your own “Think Tank.”
It is a good feeling to accept money generated by your thoughts. However, it is a better feeling knowing how to make your business or life work for you.
- Visualize yourself as a mover and a shaker.
In the 1970s, Lee Iacocca became the man to champion the Ford Mustang when it was considered by the Ford Corporation to be held in limbo. He was later hired by the struggling Chrysler Corporation, whose federal debt was nearly a billion dollars. In 1983, Lee Iacocca wrote a check for the Chrysler Corporation in the amount of $813,467, 500 to clear their federal debt and he became a premier business innovator to this day.
